Vauxhall Opel will reveal a battery-powered urban car concept at the Frankfurt motor show next week which is said to have 'production potential'.

The new car, as yet unnamed, has tandem seating and is said to have a 60-mile range and be capable of 75mph. Light weight (thought to be around 300kg) is claimed to make the new car agile and fun to drive.

More details of the concept will be unveiled on September 13.
